justify;\">In this article we analyze the modern view on the effect that abiotic factors (hydrological, hydrophysical, hydrochemical) have on the primary productivity of water reservoirs, and the differences in the development of the eutrophication process in lakes and reservoirs, as well as the problems associated with assessing the trophic status of reservoirs.
